Are there any side effects?

The most common side effect of dermal filler include bruising, pain or redness at injection sites. Avoiding alcohol, blood thinners (Asprin, Advil, omega3, St.John's Wart, etc) at least 24 hours prior to procedure willl help prevent bruising.
